Colorado Football Odds: Deion Sanders' Buffaloes -130 to make College Football Playoff

The Colorado Buffaloes are 8-2 and ranked 16th in the post-Week 12 AP Poll, and Deion Sanders' team is now minus money to make the College Football Playoff.

The Buffs' odds shortened as a result of their Big 12 Championship rival, BYU, losing for the first time to fall to 9-1. Meanwhile, Colorado cruised to a 49-24 win over Utah.

Colorado is now -130 to make the Playoff and -110 to win the conference, while BYU is +300 to make the Playoff and +320 to win the Big 12. But the Buffaloes are still +5000 to win the National Championship.

Coach Prime's Buffaloes have not beaten a ranked team yet this season, with its one game against a ranked opponent ending in a 31-28 loss to then-No. 18 Kansas State. The Buffs have beaten tough Big 12 opponents including Baylor, UCF, Cincinnati and Texas Tech.

Quarterback Shedeur Sanders has completed 72.9 percent of his passes for 3,222 yards and a 27-7 TD-INT ratio, and his completion percentage, passing TDs and passer efficiency rating (163.0) are all the best in the Big 12.

Two-way superstar Travis Hunter, who is the heavy Heisman Trophy favorite at -350 after Week 12, leads the offense with 74 receptions, 911 receiving yards and 10 total TDs and leads the defense with three interceptions and eight passes defended.

Sanders and Hunter are supported on offense by WRs LaJohntay Wester and Will Sheppard and RBs Isiah Augustave and Dallan Hayden.

On defense, six Colorado players have at least 3.0 sacks, four players have multiple interceptions, and three players have broken up seven passes or more.

With so many playmakers on both sides of the ball, a strong record, and a quieter attitude than the team had in Coach Prime's first season in 2023, Colorado has earned the right to be taken seriously by the Playoff Selection Committee.
