Two sides at risk of missing the 2026 World Cup meet on Friday afternoon in Colombia.

2024 Copa America finalists Colombia have had an underwhelming qualification campaign and currently sit sixth in the CONMEBOL table, currently five points clear of safety. Nestor Lorenzo's men sit behind many of their continental rivals and have just one win from their last six since defeating Argentina 2-1 in September 2024.

But the Colombians, who missed out on the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, have a favorable fixture list ahead, including their match on home soil against ninth-place Peru on Friday.

Peru has just 10 points from 14 matches and has an uphill battle to sniff qualification. Oscar Ibanez's team has scored the fewest goals (six) of any team in CONMEBOL qualifying.

These two sides drew 1-1 when they met in qualifying in September 2024.
