Week 2 of the college football season presents some exciting matchups, and we've done our best to list the top duels for you here.

No. 11 Texas Longhorns vs. No. 3 Alabama Crimson Tide

The matchup of the week is undoubtedly taking place in Tuscaloosa when the Alabama Crimson Tide welcome in the Texas Longhorns. If last season's game was any indication, fans are in for another treat come Saturday. 

Alabama won last year's contest by just a single point, 20-19, in what was one of the best games of the 2022 college football season.

The Crimson Tide look vastly different from a player standpoint than a year ago, without the likes of Bryce Young, Jahmyr Gibbs, Will Anderson and more. 

Texas fields much of the same team, although QB Quinn Ewers was knocked out of last season's matchup due to injury, a factor that ended up looming large. It bears watching to see if the Longhorns can go on the road and succeed in one of the nation's most hostile environments.

Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. No. 22 Colorado Buffaloes

If it weren't for the huge top 15 matchup happening in Alabama in Week 2, all eyes would probably be on the Nebraska Cornhuskers vs. Colorado Buffaloes contest. 

New head coach Deion Sanders has the buzz surrounding this Buffalo program reaching unexpected heights. Nebraska has a new head coach of their own in Matt Rhule, who is leading the charge to turn the program around.

To add to the already anticipated matchup, Colorado appears to have two players that might wind up in Heisman contention at season's end with Sanders' son Shedeur at QB, and two-way star Travis Hunter.

Nebraska looked better than many expected in their season opener, and Rhule is a proven collegiate coach. But are they ready to march into this Colorado team's house and earn a win? We shall see.

No. 20 Ole Miss Rebels vs. No. 24 Tulane Green Wave

One game going under the radar this week that has the potential to be the best matchup of the weekend is the Ole Miss Rebels vs. Tulane Green Wave. 

Both squads enter ranked in the AP Top 25 and are looking to continue the momentum from last season's solid campaigns.

Many expected Tulane to have a down year compared to last, even having them on upset alert against South Alabama a week ago despite quarterback Michael Pratt returning this year. 

He led the Green Wave to a 37-17 win which certainly silenced the doubters. As for the Rebels, this will be their first real test of the season as they opened it up against FCS team Mercer, destroying the Bears by 66 points.

No. 10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. NC State Wolfpack

Last week, the country witnessed top 10 Clemson team get knocked off on the road by a then-unranked opponent in Duke. 

In Week 2, there's a real possibility that scenario repeats itself, only this time, involving the Notre Dame Fighting Irish traveling to play the NC State Wolfpack. 

NC State fans should be amped and pack the house as it's the squad's home opener.

The Wolfpack have had 10 days to prepare since their 24-14 win over UConn on Aug. 31. 

As for Notre Dame, they've looked really, really good up to this point. However, the level of competition hasn't been what they'll see from NC State here. 

QB Sam Hartman is having a Heisman-caliber season through two games, and a victory on the road while performing well would go a long way for his case.

No. 23 Texas A&M Aggies vs. Miami Hurricanes

To round out our top Week 2 College Football matchups, we want to highlight the Texas A&M Aggies vs. Miami Hurricanes contest. 

The Aggies have had a knack for disappointing their fans in recent memory, but all the pieces to the puzzle are there this season to make it a special one. The steamrolled New Mexico last week 52-10.

The University of Miami played Miami University last week in the ‘battle for Miami', where the Hurricanes easily won by 35 points. 

TAMU and The U are two programs that recruit well year in and year out, so the talent on this field in this contest should speak for itself. 

Both schools would love to get back in contention for their conference titles, and a win would be a solid step in the right direction.
