The Ohio State Buckeyes, with an 10-1 overall record and a 7-1 Big Ten record, are the +250 favorites to win the College Football National Championship.
Ohio State's lone loss was against undefeated, top-ranked Oregon, and the Buckeyes allow the fewest points per game in the nation with 10.7. Questions remain about coach Ryan Day's ability to win big games, but this team beat Penn State by a touchdown on the road and blew out previously-undefeated Indiana at home this season.
The Georgia Bulldogs are second in the market at +350. This team's two losses were against quality opponents in then-No. 4 Alabama and then-No. 16 Ole Miss, and they have beaten then-No. 14 Clemson, then-No. 1 Texas and then-No. 6 Tennessee this season.
The Oregon Ducks, at 11-0 with Heisman Trophy candidate Dillon Gabriel leading the way at quarterback, are third in the odds. The Ducks have thrived in their first season in the Big Ten, having beaten Ohio State, Illinois and Michigan, but their odds got longer after an unconvincing 16-13 win over Wisconsin in Week 12.
Fourth in the outright market is 10-1 Texas, which has a well-rounded offense and a defense that forces over two turnovers per game. They lost to Georgia but have beaten Michigan, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt.
Further back, with the fifth-shortest odds at +1400, are the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. They have arguably the worst loss of any top team on their record - a 16-14 defeat to Northern Illinois in Week 2 - but have beaten Texas A&M, Louisville, Navy and Army in 2024.
Penn State follows closely behind at +1600. They're 10-1 and have only lost to Ohio State, but their one win over a ranked team was against Illinois back in September.
Next in the odds, between 22/1 and 50/1, are the Tennessee Volunteers, Miami Hurricanes, Alabama Crimson Tide, SMU Mustangs, Indiana Hoosiers and Clemson Tigers.
