The Ohio State Buckeyes are the early favorites (+450) to win the 2025/26 National Championship. They would be the first team to repeat since the Georgia Bulldogs did so in 2021 and 2022.

Head coach Ryan Day will get stars WR Jeremiah Smith and S Caleb Downs back on either side of the ball, as well as WR Carnell Tate, WR Brandon Inniss, S Jaylen McClain and LB Arvell Reese. Plus, Day has a few young QBs he could promote to starter such as Julian Sayin or Tavien St. Clair since 2024 starter Will Howard is out of eligibility.

Georgia and the Texas Longhorns are joint-second favorites to win it all at +600.

The Bulldogs will have a different look to kick off the 2025 campaign. Gunner Stockton and Jaden Rashada will likely compete for the starting QB job, Nate Frazier will return at RB, second-leading tackler LB CJ Allen will also be back, and HC Kirby Smart brought in a new WR corps through the transfer portal.

Texas will begin the Arch Manning era after fans got a sneak preview of the QB in 2024. RB Quintrevion Wisner, WR Ryan Wingo, WR DeAndre Moore, LB Anthony Hill and LB Liona Lefau are all likely to return, and the program has the No. 1-ranked recruiting class for 2025.

The Oregon Ducks, who started the 2024 season 13-0 before losing in the quarterfinals of the College Football Playoff, are fourth in the outright market at +650. Key players including QB Dillon Gabriel, RB Jordan James and WR Tez Johnson are either out of eligibility and/or likely to go pro, but the Ducks have brought in a handful of highly-touted transfers and have former UCLA starting QB Dante Moore waiting in the wings.

Fifth in the odds at +1000 are the Penn State Nittany Lions, who will have QB Drew Allar and RBs Kaytron Allen and Nicholas Singleton back for 2025. On the defensive side, HC James Franklin will see CB AJ Harris, CB Zion Tracy and LB Tony Rojas return to form the core of that unit.

The next tier of contenders, from 14/1 to 20/1, are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Tennessee Volunteers, Clemson Tigers and Ole Miss Rebels.

Longshots to win the title, from 22/1 to 50/1, are the LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Texas A&M Aggies, Michigan Wolverines, South Carolina Gamecocks and Florida Gators.
