Everything you need to know about American UFC middleweight fighter Cody Brundage.
Cody Brundage began his MMA career with a 4-2 amateur record before turning professional in 2019. He started 5-0 as a pro, winning the middleweight championship and the light heavyweight championship in the Lights Out Championship promotion.
His efforts there earned him a fight on Dana White's Contender Series in 2020, where he lost via first-round TKO to William Knight in Las Vegas. He followed that up with a win via submission over Joseph Kropschot in Legacy Fighting Alliance, which earned Brundage a shot in UFC.
He lost his first UFC match at UFC 266 to Nick Maximov via unanimous decision in Las Vegas in 2021, and his ability to go the distance got him another UFC fight on a Fight Night card in March 2022. Brundage turned in a Performance of the Night-winning victory over Dalcha Lungiambula via submission with a guillotine choke in the first round.
Brundage followed that up with another decisive win, a first-round knockout of Tresean Gore at UFC on ESPN in July 2022. Things took a downturn after that, as he suffered three straight losses to Michal Oleksiejczuk, Rodolfo Vieira, and Sedriques Dumas between December 2022 and June 2023.
Since then, Brundage has recovered. He bounced back from the three-fight losing streak with a win via first-round disqualification against Jacob Malkoun, who hit Brundage with illegal elbows.
He put in an even better performance in the ensuing fight with another Performance of the Night Award for his efforts against Zachary Reese, who Brundage beat via first-round knockout.
Brundage then fell back in the losing column against rising star Bo Nickal at UFC 300. Nickal submitted Brundage via rear-naked choke in the second round of their April 2024 bout.
In total, Brundage is 10-6 as a professional MMA fighter and he is 4-5 in UFC, not including Dana White's Contender Series.
Brundage will face off against Abdul Razak Alhassan at UFC Fight Night on July 13, 2024.
Brundage's last fight was a second-round submission defeat to Bo Nickal at UFC 300.
Brundage was born on May 16, 1994, meaning he is 30 years old.
