American sensation Coco Gauff is +400 to win the 2025 Australian Open women’s singles event in January.
Gauff is second-favorite in the women’s singles competition, trailing defending champion and world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka (+225).
The 20-year-old has a chance to put a turbulent 2024 behind her when she takes the hard court in Melbourne next week.
Last season, Gauff bowed out in the semifinals of both the Australian Open and French Open, then the fourth round at both Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. Between those last two grand slam showings was an even quicker exit at the Paris Olympics, where Gauff lost to Donna Vekic in straight sets in the third round.
After her fourth round defeat to fellow American Emma Navarro at the U.S. Open – at which she was the defending champion – Gauff split with coach Brad Gilbert and hired Matt Daly.
In a year Guaff was expected to build off her first career major title, she fell flat in the biggest events.
But the 2023 U.S. Open champion has turned a corner of late, winning the WTA Finals in November and beating rival Sabalenka along the way.
The world No. 3 then ran the table at the United Cup, an international mixed-gender tennis tournament in Australia that serves as a tune-up for the first major of the year. Gauff won all five singles matches, including in the final vs. world No. 2 Iga Swiatek, without dropping a set.
Gauff is in prime form to challenge for her second career grand slam title.
