Club Sporting Cristal Team Profile & Betting Odds

Club Sporting Cristal is one of Peru's premier Liga 1 teams.

It was founded by Ricardo Bentin Mujica and his wife in 1955. Co-owners of Peru's brewing giant, Backus and Johnston, the two named the club Sporting Cristal after the company's best-known beer brand, Cristal.

Since its inception, Sporting Cristal has won 20 Liga 1 titles - third most of all-time. They were the first Peruvian team to win three titles in a row (1994, 1995, 1996) and most recently won it all in 2020. In 1997, the club finished as runners-up of the Copa Libertadores, their best finish at the iconic competition.

The 2026 season starts with Matchday 1 of 17 on Friday, July 17.
