The Kansas City Chiefs remained perfect on Sunday, but only just barely.
This time, it was linebacker Leo Chenal who saved the day. Chenal got his hands on Wil Lutz’s walk-off field goal attempt that, if good, would have given the Denver Broncos a 17-16 win as time expired.
Instead, the kick was blocked and Kansas City extended its undefeated start to the season, as Patrick Mahomes and company continue their quest for 17-0 and a championship three-peat.
The Chiefs are now +600 to finish the regular season an undefeated 17-0.
Since the NFL transitioned to a 17-game regular season in 2020, no team has finished the regular season undefeated. In fact, only two teams in the Super Bowl era have completed a perfect regular season – the 2007 New England Patriots and the 1972 Miami Dolphins.
The last undefeated team in each NFL season, which in 2024 is the Chiefs, has not gone on to win a championship since 2006 (Indianapolis Colts).
With 17-0 a real possibility, let’s take a look at the Chiefs remaining regular season schedule, as well as some of their other odds for the 2024 season.
