Esports: CCT North Europe Monday match previews

CCT North Europe Series 4 continues on Monday, with eight teams looking to improve their positions as we reach the business end of the group stage.

Eight of the 16 teams will advance to the playoffs, where they will face a further eight invited teams who have a bye to that stage of the competition.

All four of Monday’s matches are previewed below as the week gets started with some high-octane Counter Strike: Global Offensive action.

WhatEndpoint v Let us cook

OddsEndpoint +125, Let us cook -175

Endpoint have struggled at CCT North Europe Series 4 thus far and, after two matches, they sit second-bottom of the table having lost a pair of matches to MOUZ NXT and SINNERS.

That defeat to MOUZ NXT is particularly disappointing, given that it is an academy squad who ultimately defeated them with plenty in hand. Their only recent successes have come against lower-ranked opposition and today’s opponents, Let us cook, will give them another stern test.

They also sit with a 0-2 record in the series, but their defeats have come in hard-fought matches where they were perhaps unfortunate losers. Both sides are still in their infancy roster wise after recent changes, but Endpoint do have the more promising roster.

This is a series that could go either way and in turn has all the hallmarks of heading the distance. Endpoint are the +125 slight outsiders, but in this series they might be the ones to side with as they bid to bounce back.

WhatViperio v ECSTATIC

OddsViperio +162, ECSTATIC -225

Both of these teams head into Monday with 1-1 records, but there is a stark difference in price as ECSTATIC are the overwhelming favourites to win the series.

The Danes kicked off their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Tricked but fell foul of HAVU last time out, winning the first map before suffering heavy defeats in the two subsequent maps.

Viperio also won their opening match against GODSENT in convincing fashion, but they were unable to follow up against SINNERS. Their struggles on the T-side of both maps was concerning and needs to have been addressed ahead of this match.

Although ECSTATIC are the most likely winners, their price does seem rather short. Viperio are -200 at +1.5 in the match handicap and, depending on which is their choice, that might be the bet of the match.

WhatNexus v Astralis Talent
WhereOnline

OddsNexus +110, Astralis Talent -150

Astralis Talent have made a rampant start to the CCT North Europe Series 4 campaign, winning a pair of matches without dropping a map.

Both teams they have beaten, Sangal and VOYVODA, are unbeaten in subsequent matches, so the form is evidently strong.

As for Nexus, they are also unbeaten in two matches in Series 4, defeating K23 and MOUZ NXT, and both those sides are also unbeaten in subsequent Series 4 matches.

This contest should be quite the spectacle as both sides are expected to reach the business end of the playoffs in their current form.

Consistency has been difficult to come by on occasion for Nexus and that could be their kryptonite against a side like Astralis who have built up a strong sequence in recent months.

Astralis are the rightful favourites, as they have a youthful squad with a huge amount of potential.

Their odds of -150 to win the match outright may prove generous come the business end, as many would have expected the Danes to be even shorter in this particular encounter.

WhatSINNERS Esports v HAVU
WhereOnline
When1PM ET, Monday March 6th
How to watchTwitch
OddsSINNERS Esports +100, HAVU -138

In the other battle of two unbeaten sides, SINNERS take on HAVU, with the winners also advancing to the playoffs.

HAVU are the slight favourites and that can be of little surprise, as they are unbeaten in their last six official matches and have dropped just three maps along the way.

As for SINNERS, although they are unbeaten at this particular tournament, their results have been fairly middling. Two defeats from three matches at the European Development Championship was below their best, but that slide was arrested with their wins at this tournament.

Their best would give them a big shout against HAVU, but their -138 Finnish opponents are rarely off their game and if ottoNd puts up the numbers we expect of him, this should be their afternoon to qualify.
