The post-Gregg Berhalter era begins for the United States Men's National Team, who play a friendly against the Jesse Marsch-led Canada Men's National Team.
It has been reported that a deal between US Soccer and former Chelsea, PSG and Tottenham head coach Mauricio Pochettino had been struck to make the Argentine the new USMNT head coach, but that has stalled as the coach is still owed money from his last job at Chelsea.
In the meantime, interim head coach Mikey Varas - who was promoted from an assistant manager role under Berhalter - will lead the team against its rivals from the north.
There are already some important storylines heading into this friendly match as Varas called in a few new faces, a handful of players have changed teams, and Marsch has criticized US Soccer for the way the organization treated him before re-hiring Berhalter after the 2022 World Cup.
Canada vs. United States will be broadcast on TBS, which can be viewed through cable TV or with live TV streaming apps such as YouTubeTV or Hulu Live TV.
Streaming is available on MAX, and fans can watch the game with a Spanish-language broadcast on Telemundo or streaming on Peacock.
Canada vs. United States is scheduled to start at 4 PM ET/3 PM CT/1 PM PT on Saturday, September 7 with the match taking place at Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
