Quarterback Cam Ward has led the No. 5 Miami Hurricanes to an 8-0 record and their highest ranking since 2017, and the team faces the ACC rival Duke Blue Devils in Week 10.
Ward is the second-favorite to win the Heisman Trophy at +300 entering the game against Duke.
The third-year QB who transferred to Miami from Washington State leads the ACC in passing yards (2,746), passing touchdowns (24) and passer efficiency rating (174.7). He also has a 68.0 completion percentage and just five interceptions against those 24 TDs.
Ward is coming off his worst game of the season in Week 9, which was a 36-14 win over Florida State. It was the first time this season Ward failed to both surpass 300 passing yards or throw a TD pass, and he posted his lowest single-game completion percentage (62.9). That said, he did catch a seven-yard pass for a score.
Duke has the 12th-best pass defense in terms of yards allowed per game (166.6) out of the 134 Division I football teams. They're also one of 27 teams to allow less than one passing TD per game.
Six different Blue Devils defensive players have at least one interception this season - the team averages more than one interception per game - and the defense has combined to defend 30 passes in eight games.
Ahead of a tough test for Ward and company, let's take a look at the Heisman candidate's odds for this Week 10 ACC clash.
