Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is the favorite to win 2024 Offensive Rookie of the Year after being selected first overall in the NFL Draft.

The former USC quarterback was the first of six QBs to come off the board in the opening 12 picks of the draft, a new record for the position. Williams is the eighth QB to be selected first overall in the last 10 drafts.
It’s no surprise Williams is the preseason favorite to win OROY.
Not only is the 2022 Heisman Trophy winner a perfect mold for the modern NFL quarterback, but the team he is joining is well-equipped to have success right away.
After trading for WR D.J. Moore a year ago, the Bears added veteran WR Keenan Allen in free agency, and then standout WR Rome Odunze with the No. 9 overall pick on draft night. General manager Ryan Poles has done a tremendous job setting his new franchise QB up for success.

On paper, that’s one of the best offenses in the NFC, and is a massive improvement over basically any Bears offense this century.
Williams can become the fourth QB selected first overall to win OROY since 2010 (Sam Bradford, Cam Newton, Kyler Murray). However, just four of the last 11 OROYs have been quarterbacks.
