The Chicago Sky face off against the Brazil women’s national team in the WNBA preseason on Friday, May 2.
The game will feature some of the most-talked about names in women’s basketball, notably Sky forward Angel Reese, Brazilian international Kamilla Cardoso and 2025 draftee Hailey Van Lith. The game will take place at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center on the campus of Louisiana State University, where Reese and Van Lith played college basketball.
Cardoso, the third overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft following a stellar college career at South Carolina and Syracuse, has played for the Brazil national team before but will suit up for the Sky in this game. The 6-foot-7 center averaged 9.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 32 games as a rookie.
The Sky had a busy offseason, acquiring Ariel Atkins via trade from the Washington Mystics and signing 5x All-Star Courtney Vandersloot and Kia Nurse from free agency.
This marks the first of two games between Brazil and a WNBA team this preseason. After facing the Sky on Friday, they will travel to Caitlin Clark’s former college arena at the University of Iowa to take on the Indiana Fever.
The Brazil women's national team vs. Chicago Sky will tip off at 9 PM ET / 8 PM CT / 6 PM PT on Friday, May 2 from the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on the campus of Louisiana State University.
The Brazil women's national team vs. Chicago Sky will air on ION, a live streaming service available on select streaming services such as YouTube TV, Tubi and The Roku Channel, as well as on WNBA League Pass.
