Stevenson made his professional debut in April 2017 with victory over Edgar Brito and over the next couple of years began to establish himself with a succession of wins over the likes of Oscar Mendoza, Aelio Mesquita, Carlos Ruiz and Viorel Simion.
Stevenson's triumph over Jessie Cris Rosales in January 2019 earned him the vacant IBF Inter-Continental and WBC Continental Americas featherweight titles and nine months later he secured the vacant WBO featherweight title after defeating Joet Gonzalez by unanimous decision.
In October 2021, Stevenson picked up the WBO super featherweight title with a TKO success over Jamel Herring before adding the WBC and vacant The Ring super featherweight titles when seeing off Oscar Valdez in April of the following year.
The WBC lightweight title was his when he got the better of Edwin De Los Santos in November 2023 and he has since successfully defended the belt twice - first against Artem Harutyunyan last summer and then when overcoming Padley last time out.

Zepeda may be the underdog but the 29-year-old - who is two years older than Stevenson - has a longer unbeaten record as a pro, which began when he knocked out Alonso Salvatierra in November 2015.
He followed that up with a string of early victories and started to make a real name for himself when landing the vacant WBA Continental Americas lightweight title in July 2021 when Hector Tanajara Jr. was forced to retire in the sixth round of their clash in Los Angeles.
Zepeda enhanced his reputation further with more wins and extended his unbeaten record to 27 fights with a unanimous decision success over Joseph Diaz in October 2022.
He fought twice in 2023, overcoming Jaime Arboleda and Mercito Gesta, and then last year he enjoyed three more victories when defeating Maxi Hughes, Giovanni Cabrera and Tevin Farmer - the latter result in Saudi Arabia securing him the vacant WBC interim lightweight title.
Zepeda then successfully defended his belt in his rematch with Farmer in Mexico in March to give him a shot at Stevenson.
