The Derby-born fighter responded, however, in August 2022 when she won the rematch, collecting the vacant WBC International Super Lightweight title in the process.
After defending that newly-earned strap in November 2022, Ryan then won the vacant WBO World Welterweight title against Marie Pier Houle by unanimous decision in April 2023 as she continued to impress.
Following a draw against Jessica McCaskill in September 2023, she most recently beat Terri Harper to retain her WBO World Welterweight title in March 2024 after Harper was forced to retire hurt.
Overall, Ryan has won three times by KO/TKO and four times by decision. Her only loss came by decision and she also has one draw on her record.

Mayer is the more experienced fighter, having a professional boxing record of 19-2.
The 34-year-old American made her boxing debut in August 2017, winning by knockout in her first professional fight, and she quickly racked up six more wins early in her career.
Ryan won her first title fight in October 2018, beating Vanessa Bradford for the vacant North American Boxing Federation Super Featherweight title.
Then, over her next five fights, Ryan defended that belt three times before beating Ewa Brodnicka in October 2020 for the vacant WBO World Super Featherweight title.
Mayer went on to win the IBF World Super Featherweight and WBO World Super Featherweight titles in November 2021, but lost both to Alycia Baumgardner by split decision in October 2022.
However, she demonstrated her strong mentality by bouncing back to win the vacant WBC Interim World Lightweight title in April 2023.
She does come into the showdown with Ryan on the back of a loss, though, having been defeated by Natasha Jones in January 2024, missing out on the chance to win the IBF World Welterweight title in Liverpool.
So far in her career, Mayer has won five times by knockout and 14 times by decision. As for her defeats, both have come by decision.
