Espinoza enters this fight with a professional boxing record of 25-0. He made his boxing debut in February 2013 when he beat Victor Valadez by technical knockout in Mexico.

The majority of his early fights were in Mexico as he looked to make a name for himself and, over the next 10 years, Espinoza won every fight he was given which translated to a 23-0 record to start his career.

After winning his 23rd fight in a row, he was finally given a title fight. This was in December 2023 and was for the WBO World Featherweight title. In this fight, Espinoza beat Robeisy Ramirez by majority decision to win his first career title.

In his most recent fight, Espinoza successfully defended his WBO World Featherweight title for the first time. Espinoza won this fight by technical knockout and the fight took place in June 2024.

Ramirez enters this fight with a professional boxing record of 14-2. Making his debut in August 2019, Ramirez was upset in his first professional fight, losing to Adan Gonzales by split decision.

He bounced back to win his next seven fights in a row before he was given his first title fight. This fight was in October 2021 and was for the North American Boxing Federation Junior Featherweight title.
