After winning 23 straight fights over more than 10 years, Espinoza was given his first title fight in December 2023. This fight was against Robeisy Ramirez and was for the WBO Featherweight title. Espinoza pulled off the upset in this fight, beating Ramirez by majority decision. 

Espinoza’s most recent fight was in June 2024 against Sergio Chirino Sanchez, who he beat by technical knockout to successfully defend his WBO World Featherweight title. So far in his career, Espinoza has won 21 times by KO and four times by decision.

Ramirez made his professional boxing debut in August 2019, which was a loss to Adan Gonzales by split decision. Following this loss, Ramirez won his next 13 fights in a row, winning the following titles during this stretch:

• IBF USBA Featherweight (June 2022)

• WBO Global Featherweight (June 2022)

• WBO World Featherweight (April 2023)

This 13-fight win streak finally came to an end in December 2023 when Ramirez lost to Rafael Espinoza by a majority decision.

Ramirez quickly bounced back from the loss in June 2024, beating Brandon Leon Benitez by technical knockout for the WBO NABO Featherweight title.
