Osleys Iglesias vs. Petro Ivanov titles at stake

Osleys Iglesias record

12-0, 11 KOs

Osleys Iglesias compiled a 54-14 record as an amateur, per BoxRec, fighting largely in his homeland of Cuba before turning professional in 2019.

The 26-year-old made a statement in his debut with a first-round TKO win over Malkhaz Sujashvili, who entered the bout with a 12-7 record, in Hamburg.

Iglesias then faced the experienced Rafael Bejaran and claimed a second-round stoppage to become just the third man to register an early finish against the Dominican in his 32nd fight.

Bernard Donfack was El Tornado’s next KO victim as he was dismantled inside two rounds, and to date Donfack is the only opponent Iglesias has faced who has not had a winning record (he was 23-23-4 at the time of their meeting).

Iglesias was 5-0, with all of his wins coming inside the first two rounds when he made a big step up to take on former world title challenger Isaac Chilemba in 2022.

Chilemba, who held the IBO belt himself in 2010-11, became the first, and so far only, man to go the full distance with Iglesias, who prevailed via a unanimous decision.

The Havana native then faced another experienced rival in the shape of Ezequiel Maderna, claiming a first-round TKO win.

Those victories put Iglesias firmly in the mix in the super middleweight division and he was handed a chance to challenge for the vacant IBO crown.

The southpaw came up against Ukrainian Andrii Velikovskyi, who was 21-2-2, going into the bout. The fight was fairly close until the 10th round, when Iglesias floored Velikovskyi and claimed a TKO win.

The Cuban stopped Artur Reis in the fourth round in 2023 and has been busy this year.

Iglesias made his professional debut outside of Europe at Montreal Casino by stopping Marcelo Coceres in the first round and has since beaten Evgeny Shvedenko (first-round TKO) and Sena Agbeko (second-round TKO), meaning his bout with Ivanov will be his fourth outing in the last nine months.

Petro Ivanov record

18-0-2, 13 KOs

Petro Ivanov had a brief amateur career before deciding to make the move into the professional arena at the age of 18.

The Ukrainian stopped journeyman Andriy Danichkin in Lviv with a first-round TKO in 2014 but stepped up significantly in class for his second outing, outpointing the 14-6 Levan Shonia in a four-round contest.

Ivanov compiled a 5-0 record before he had to settle for a draw with Ramil Gadzhyiev over eight rounds, but responded to that setback by recording another four wins, three via stoppage.

The 28-year-old then had a second draw with Igor Kudrytskyi but was perhaps fortunate on that occasion, with two judges scoring that eight-round bout level and one giving Kudrytskyi the win by three rounds.

However, that is the last minor blemish on Ivanov’s record and he heads into Thursday’s bout seeking a 10th successive win. The Nizhyn-born fighter has been inactive for over a year, however, with his last bout a fourth-round TKO win over Juan Boada in October of last year.

Osleys Iglesias vs. Petro Ivanov full fight card

Osleys Iglesias vs. Petro Ivanov is the co-main event, alongside a 10-round middleweight bout between Montreal native and former title challenger Steven Butler and Diego Chaves.

The other bouts to be confirmed are:

Leila Beaudoin vs Gabriela Bouvier
Thomas Chabot vs Jesus Adrian Daneff
Jhon Orobio vs Jacopo Colli
