Keyshawn Davis vs. Edwin De Los Santos: Picks, Predictions and Odds

Keyshawn Davis makes the first defense of his WBO world lightweight title against Edwin De Los Santos at Scoope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia, on Saturday night.

Davis (13-0, 9 KOs) is fighting for the fourth time in under a year and he was last seen securing an impressive fourth round stoppage win over the previously unbeaten Denys Berinchyk back in February.

Meanwhile, De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) was last seen in November 2023 when he was outpointed by Shakur Stevenson.

Keyshawn Davis vs. Edwin De Los Santos betting picks and predictions

Fight To Go The Distance - No (+120)

Davis comes into this bout as the heavy favorite, and it would register as a shock if he suffered a first defeat against De Los Santos, who has been out of the ring for over 18 months.

With Davis -650 to win, the best starting point looks to be simply backing this fight not to go the full distance rather than focus on a winner.

Davis has an impressive stoppage rate, with nine of his 13 contests ending early, and his last two bouts have both finished inside the first four rounds.

Neither of these men has ever been stopped, but both carry plenty of power.

De Los Santos could find himself outclassed in terms of skill and he looks to have a bit of a size disadvantage here, as Davis is a big lightweight, but the Dominican carries undeniable power himself.

De Los Santos has 14 KOs in his 16 wins, and with both men capable of engineering stoppages, backing an early finish looks a strong play when taking the prices into account.

Keyshawn Davis To Win By KO, TKO or DQ (+162)

Davis has been the far more active of these fighters recently and he's picked up four wins since De Los Santos was last in the ring.

De Los Santos lost to Stevenson in November 2023 via unanimous decision in what was a particularly uneventful contest, where neither fighter managed double digits in punches in any of the 12 rounds.

Indeed, De Los Santos connected with just 40 of his 316 punches thrown - setting a record for the least amount of punches landed by a fighter in a 12-round contest.

A repeat of that looks highly unlikely, however, as Davis is a different type of fighter. Stevenson is a true technician and he managed to completely nullify De Los Santos and do just enough to win himself.

Davis has more power, and he has a proven record of taking out opponents who were previously considered durable.

The 26-year-old stopped the 29-1 Gustavo Daniel Lemos inside two rounds last year and followed that up with a victory in the fourth against Berinchyk, who had edged out knockout specialist Emanuel Navarrete in his previous fight before coming up against Davis.

Keyshawn Davis To Win In Rounds 4-6 (+700)

As a big price option, backing Davis to get a win over the line in rounds 4-6 looks a reasonable play.

De Los Santos has never been stopped, so he may be able to survive an early onslaught, but Davis has the power and accuracy to get the job done in the latter stages of the first half of this contest - as he did against Berinchyk.
