Ennis made his debut in 2016 with a knockout victory over Cory Muldew and his first three wins all came in the opening round, while his first five were all stoppages.
The fighter nicknamed 'Boots' quickly established a reputation as a knockout specialist and started his rise up the ranks in 2018 with dominant victories over the 18-0 Armando Alvarez (third round TKO) and Raymond Serrano (second round KO).
The Philadelphia native had a chance to challenge for the vacant IBO welterweight title in 2020 against South Africa’s Chris van Heerden.
Ennis looked on course to record another early finish but an accidental clash of heads saw Van Heerden sustain a bad cut and the fight was stopped by the referee inside the opening round, resulting in a no contest draw.
He made a step up in his next bout against the 16-1-1 Sergey Lipinets and stopped the Kazakh fighter in the sixth, having sent Lipinets to the canvas in the fourth.
He followed that up with a first round win over Thomas Dulorme and a second round KO of the previously unbeaten Custio Clayton.
The 27-year-old faced Chukhadzhian for the first time in January of 2023 for the vacant interim IBF title and won via unanimous decision, winning 120-108 across all three scorecards.
He then stopped Roiman Villa in the 10th round before being elevated to the full IBF champion after Terence Crawford was stripped of the title, having opted against fighting Ennis after being ordered to do so by the governing body.
Ennis was last seen stopping David Avanesyan in the fifth round in July.
24-2 (13 KOs)
Chukhadzhian made his debut in April 2015 in a Super 8 tournament in his hometown of Kyiv and claimed a points win over Mykhailo Shybunko, but suffered a first career defeat later the same day in a split decision loss to future world title challenger Andrii Velikovskyi.
The Ukrainian worked his way up the rankings and scored a huge success in 2020 with a split decision victory over Sergei Vorobev in his first fight outside of his homeland.
In 2022, Chukhadzhian claimed a regional IBF title by stopping the 14-2-1 Ryan Martin in the eighth round and followed that up by stopping Blake Minto.
That victory set up a chance to become the interim IBF champion with a bout against Ennis, who had been trying to secure a bout with then-IBF holder Errol Spence Jr.
Chukhadzhian went into the bout as a huge underdog and he was dominated throughout, but he did manage to become just the third fighter to take Ennis the full distance.
After that unanimous decision loss, Chukhadzhian returned with a second round stoppage of Michael Marcano and then stopped Pietro Rossetti.
Chukhadzhian moved back into the mandatory position for the IBF title and was last seen claiming a unanimous decision win over Harry Scarff in June.
Ennis is the overwhelming favorite at -3500, while Chukhadzhian is a +1300 underdog.
