Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.: Picks, Predictions and Odds

An intriguing fight takes place on Saturday, June 28 at the Honda Center in California, as Jake Paul goes up against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

A Cruiserweight division battle over 10 rounds, this fight is expected to begin at approximately 11 PM ET and will be available to watch through DAZN Pay-Per-View.

Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. betting picks and predictions

Jake Paul Win by Decision (-120)

Our first best bet for this Main Event is Paul to win by decision. There is no questioning that the American has had an excellent start to his boxing career.

While Paul has had a successful career thus far, he has not faced the toughest of opponents. His last fight was against 58-year-old Mike Tyson, whom he defeated by unanimous decision after eight two-minute rounds.

Before fighting Tyson, Paul fought former MMA star Mike Perry, semi-retired boxer Ryan Bourland, Andre August, Nate Diaz, Tommy Fury (Paul’s one loss), plus several other retired MMA stars, who are not normally real boxers.

Despite his lack of competition, Paul has been able to earn seven wins by KO/TKO and four wins by decision, with his only loss coming by decision to the aforementioned Tommy Fury in February 2023.

On the other side, Cesar Chavez Jr. has been a professional boxer since 2003. He enters this fight with a professional record of 54-6-1 (1 NC) for a total of 62 bouts in his career. His most recent fight was a win against Uriah Hall by unanimous decision back in July 2024.

Overall, Cesar Chavez Jr. has won 34 times by KO/TKO and 20 times by decision. Out of six losses, four have been by decision, and just two have been by KO/TKO.

Paul is the overwhelming favorite in this fight, a spot he is used to in his young boxing career. As mentioned, more than half of his wins have come by KO/TKO, but Cesar Chavez Jr.’s experience and lack of losses by KO/TKO make us believe he will be able to survive the full 10 rounds.

Fight to go the Distance - Yes (-175)

Our second bet will be backing this fight to go the distance. Granted, Paul has only seen two of his last five fights go the distance, but Cesar Chavez Jr. has seen each of his last three bouts go the distance.

Other than Tyson, Paul has not faced an opponent with as much experience as Cesar Chavez Jr. This experience may not win him the fight, but as mentioned previously, Cesar Chavez Jr. has only ever lost by KO/TKO twice, which is why backing this fight to go the distance (-175) will be our second selection.
