Fundora puts her IBF title on the line in this bout. Like her brother, unified WBC and WBO super welterweight champion Sebastian, she is coached by their Cuban-born father and trainer, Freddy Sr.
At 22, Fundora is six years the junior of her latest opponent and has a height advantage of 9 inches over Alaniz. This also extends to a 7-inch reach advantage.
Fundora has fought three times in the last year. Most recently, she successfully defended her IBF flyweight title against Daniela Asenjo on August 10 at Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas, with the Coachella-based champion winning by unanimous decision.
In the aftermath of that win, she suggested that a unification bout with Alaniz was her desired next fight and so it has proved.

Alaniz enters the ring with a record of 15 wins and just one loss, with six of those wins by knockout.
She is an orthodox fighter, taking on a southpaw in Fundora and has had just two bouts in the last 15 months.
The 28-year-old avenged her sole career defeat, regained the WBO title and claimed the unified WBC and WBA strap by split decision in a rematch against Marlen Esparza in April.
'La Chucky' had walked away with the win in July 2023 by majority decision, but the Buenos Aires boxer evened the score to take the WBO, WBA, WBC and Ring Magazine belts.
Fundora enters the fight as a strong -850 favorite, while Alaniz is the +525 underdog.
