The last weekend of February serves up a much-anticipated boxing match between Carlos Adames and Hamzah Sheeraz this weekend.

Adames and Sheeraz is scheduled for Saturday, February 22nd at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 

The fight card known as “Last Crescendo” is expected to get underway at 1:00 PM ET, with the ring walks for Adames and Sheeraz scheduled for approximately 2:35 PM ET.

Adames enters this fight with a professional boxing record of 24-1. He made his boxing debut in July 2015, winning his first 14 fights in a row before earning his first title chance. 

This was for the North American Boxing Federation Super Welterweight title, a fight he won in October 2018. Shortly after winning this title, Adames added the WBO NABO Super Welterweight title in June 2019. 

A few months later, Adames suffered a small setback, losing for the first time in his career in November 2019 against Patrick Teixeira, a fight that was contested for the WBO Interim World Super Welterweight title. 

However, he quickly bounced back, winning the WBC Interim World Middleweight title in October 2022. More recently, this Interim title was upgraded to the World title after Adames won his last fight in June 2024.

On the other side, Sheeraz enters this fight with a professional boxing record of 21-0. He made his boxing debut in September 2017, winning his first nine fights before earning his first title fight in November 2019. 

This was for the WBO European Super Welterweight title, a fight he won by technical knockout. 

Sheeraz went on to defend this title in four consecutive fights before winning the WBC International Middleweight title in March 2022, the WBC Silver Middleweight title in July 2022, and the Commonwealth Boxing Council Middleweight title in November 2022. 

He has successfully defended these titles over his next four fights, while adding the EBU European Middleweight title in September 2024.

Despite Sheeraz being the heavy favorite, he still looks to be the best betting option. 

Sheeraz has won nearly all of his fights by knockout or technical knockout but because Adames has only ever lost by decision, backing Sheeraz on the moneyline (-275) will be our first best bet for Saturday’s showdown.
