Murtazaliev is defending the IBF world super welterweight title for the first time.
22-0 (16 KOs)
Murtazaliev made his debut in 2014 with a unanimous decision win over Vasif Mamedov in a four-round contest in Chelyabinsk, Russia.
The 31-year-old’s first six fights took place in his homeland and he managed four stoppages during that period before he made his US debut in 2016, stopping the previously unbeaten Botirsher Obidov in the second round in Las Vegas.
That victory was part of a nine-fight streak where Murtazaliev recorded stoppage wins, which came to an end against the 23-11 Norberto Gonzalez.
Murtazaliev claimed a unanimous decision win over Gonzalez to secure a regional WBC belt.
Victories over the likes of former world title challenger Elvin Ayala, Khiary Gray and Roberto Valenzuela Jr saw Muratzaliev enhance his reputation and earlier this year he picked up the biggest win of his career as he stopped Jack Culcay in the 11th round in Germany to become a world champion for the first time.
24-1 (17 KOs)
Tim Tszyu comes from a boxing family as his father Kostya Tszyu is a former light-welterweight world champion and younger brother Nikita Tszyu is unbeaten after 10 professional fights.
The 29-year-old made his debut in his hometown of Sydney in 2016 with a points win over Zorran Cassady in a six-round contest.
Tszyu worked his way up the rankings quickly and in 2017 he became the WBC Asian Continental super welterweight champion by outpointing Wade Ryan for the vacant title.
In 2019, he landed further regional titles by seeing off Joel Camilleri and Dwight Ritchie and, in the following year, he established himself at world level by stopping former world champion Jeff Horn.
Tszyu picked himself off the canvas in 2022 to claim a points win over Terrell Gausha and that victory led to a first world title shot. The Australian became interim WBO champion by beating Tony Harrison and followed that up with a sensational first-round stoppage of Carlos Ocampo before he was elevated to full champion for his points win over Brian Mendoza.
Tszyu made his US debut in March this year after spending his entire career in his homeland with a match-up against Sebastian Fundora, the WBC champion. His bid to become a unified champion fell short, however, as he was on the wrong end of a split decision as he lost his title and suffered a first career defeat.
Murtazaliev is the underdog at +400 in the bout betting, while Tszyu is rated as the -600 favorite.
A KO, TKO or DQ win for the Australian is -125 while Murtazaliev is +1000 to pick up a 17th-career stoppage.
The full card has yet to be confirmed but Yoenis Tellez vs Johan Gonzalez is the co-headilne event and Mateo Tapia vs Endry Saavedra is also on the bill.
