All eyes will be on the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday when Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol face off in a bout to confirm the undisputed light-heavyweight champion of the world.
Beterbiev won the first bout with Bivol in October 2024 via mixed decision, making him the undisputed champion and setting the stage for round two just four months after their initial fight.
The “Last Crescendo” fight card is expected to get underway at 1:00 PM ET, with the ring walk for Beterbiev and Bivol expected at 6:00 PM ET. Viewers can watch the fight on DAZN Pay-Per-View.
Our first best bet for the main event title fight targets Beterbiev to win and go 2-0 against Bivol.
Beterbiev enters this fight with a professional boxing record of 21-0. Making his debut in June 2013, Beterbiev quickly put himself on the map, winning his first five fights by KO/TKO.
It was in September 2014 that he earned his first title fight against Tavoris Cloud, a bout Beterbiev won by knockout to claim the North American Boxing Association Light Heavyweight title.
He followed up this title win by claiming the following titles over the next 11 years: the IBF North American Light Heavyweight title (December 2014), the WBO NABO Light Heavyweight title (December 2014), the WBO International Light Heavyweight title (June 2015), the IBF World Light Heavyweight title (November 2017), the WBC World Light Heavyweight (October 2019), the WBO World Light Heavyweight title (June 2022), and the IBO World Light Heavyweight title (October 2024).
On the other side, Bivol enters this fight with a professional boxing record of 23-1.
Bivol made his professional debut in November 2014, winning his first three fights before earning his first title shot. This was for the WBC USA Silver Light Heavyweight title, a fight he won in August 2015.
Bivol won his next 17 fights in a row before earning his next title fight. This time, he won the IBO World Light Heavyweight title in December 2023. He was able to successfully defend this title in June 2024 but ended up losing this title in October 2024 against Beterbiev.
This fight is essentially a toss-up in the odds. However, based on the fact that Beterbiev has never lost a single fight and knowing that he already beat Bivol just last year, backing Beterbiev to win the rematch on Saturday night will be our best bet as he looks to retain his four light heavyweight titles (IBF, IBO, WBC, and WBO).
Our second best bet for this title fight will focus on backing the contest to end inside the distance.
Throughout his professional career, Beterbiev has won 20 times by KO/TKO and his lone decision victory was against Bivol in their first fight in October 2024. As for Bivol, he has won 12 of his 23 professional fights by KO/TKO.
Despite the first fight between Beterbiev and Bivol ending in a decision, the rematch has the makings of a much different fight.
As mentioned, Bivol is the only man that Beterbiev has never knocked out; therefore, he will likely be looking to rectify this and prove he is the true undisputed light heavyweight champion.
For that reason, backing this title fight to end inside the distance will be our second best bet for Saturday night.
