Bill Belichick NFL Head Coaching Odds: +4000 for Raiders job

Could Bill Belichick leave the University of North Carolina before he coaches a single football game there?

While the New England Patriots legend has spoken about wanting to build an NFL pipeline in Chapel Hill, the call of the professional game could be too much for him to pass up, especially with the 72-year-old just 27 wins away from breaking Don Shula's record for the most wins by an NFL head coach.

Belichick certainly will not be getting his old job back. Pats owner Robert Kraft hired the second former player for the job in as many years, bringing in former edge rusher and Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Vrabel to replace former New England linebacker Jerod Mayo.

It's also a near certainty that he will not join the New York Jets. He resigned as their head coach during his introductory press conference in 2000, only to join their AFC East rival Patriots.

Here, we have the latest odds for Belichick to be hired for an NFL head coaching job ahead of the 2025 season.

Bill Belichick NFL Head Coaching Odds

LV Raiders

+4000

DAL Cowboys

+6000

CHI Bears

+10000

JAX Jaguars

+10000

NO Saints

+10000

Bill Belichick is the +4000 joint-eighth-favorite to be hired by the Las Vegas Raiders. He had been among the favorites at +1000 at one point, but other candidates who have interviewed with the team have overtaken him in the market.

That said, Belichick's longtime quarterback, Tom Brady, is a part-owner of the Raiders, so there's a chance the two will come together once more.

Belichick also has the 13th-shortest odds at +6000 to be hired as the next Dallas Cowboys head coach.

Cowboys owner and GM Jerry Jones will want to make a splash with his next hire, and prying the third-winningest coach in NFL history away from his new employer would be a big statement.

Belichick has the longest odds (+10000) for three of the jobs he has been linked to: The Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints.

In Chicago, Belichick would have a chance to work with QB Caleb Williams, the 2024 first-overall draft pick who struggled in his rookie season and took the most sacks of any QB in 2024.

The Bears finished 28th out of 32 teams in points scored and last in yards gained, but they play in the NFL's toughest division - the NFC North - and have the sixth-most cap space heading into this offseason.

Taking the Jaguars' job would give Belichick the chance to work with QB Trevor Lawrence, who was taken first overall in 2021.

Lawrence never built upon his 2022 Pro Bowl campaign but was regarded as one of the most complete QB prospects ever coming out of college. Plus, the Jags have two talented edge rushers - Josh Hines-Allen and Travon Walker - to build the defense around.

The Saints, meanwhile, are an NFL-worst $61 million over the salary cap, per Spotrac, and have the league's seventh-oldest roster. But if Belichick can effectively guide the team out of its cap situation and set it up for an exciting future, he will go down as a franchise legend.
