Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament Outright Odds

The Big 12 ended the regular season with four teams ranked in the AP Poll and eight teams with double-digit wins in conference play.

The Houston Cougars finished atop the regular season standings with a 19-1 Big 12 record. The preseason No. 1-ranked Kansas Jayhawks finished sixth with an 11-9 conference record, and they ended the season outside the AP Poll altogether.

This is one of the deepest versions of the conference in recent memory, and the Big 12 Tournament odds reflect that. Here, we'll take a look at the outright odds to win the Big 12 Tournament.

The Houston Cougars (27-4, 19-1 Big 12) are the favorites (+100) to win the Big 12 Tournament, and they're ranked second in the latest AP Poll.

Head coach Kelvin Sampson's team ended the regular season with the second-best defensive rating (91.8) in the nation, as well as the fourth-best three-point percentage (39.7 percent). The guard trio of LJ Cryer, Emanuel Sharp and Milos Uzan is tough to stop, and they take care of the ball as the Cougars average the eighth-fewest turnovers per game (9.3).

The Texas Tech Red Raiders (24-7, 15-5 Big 12) are ranked ninth in the nation, and they're the second-favorites to win the Big 12 (+375).

The Red Raiders handed Houston its only loss in Big 12 play in overtime on February 1, and their core of forward JT Toppin and guards Chance McMillan and Christian Anderson create a strong inside-out scoring dynamic.

The Iowa State Cyclones (23-8, 13-7 Big 12) are third in the market (+600) as a result of their struggles in conference play.

The Cyclones lost three of their last five games which saw them fall to a season-low No. 10 ranking. Their guard group of Tamin Lipsey, Curtis Jones and Keshon Gilbert is strong, they average the ninth-most turnovers forced (15.7) and the ninth-most steals (9.6) in the country, and they have picked up wins over Marquette, Baylor and Kansas this season.

The Arizona Wildcats (20-11, 14-6 Big 12) are fourth in the market (+850) and are the last of the four teams with odds shorter than 10/1. Star guard and leading scorer Caleb Love is inefficient (16.4 points per game, 37.6 percent shooting) and the team shoots worse from three than its opponents on average (31.8 percent to 33.0 percent), but the Wildcats dominate the boards, shoot well from close range, share the ball and play at a fast pace.

The BYU Cougars (23-8, 14-6 Big 12) are fifth in the odds (+1100). Led by 6-foot-9 playmaker Egor Demin and sharpshooter Richie Saunders, the Cougars ranked in the top 15 nationwide in assists per game and field goal percentage. Head coach Kevin Young's team won its last eight games entering the tournament, which included wins over Kansas, Arizona and Iowa State.

At +1200, the Kansas Jayhawks (20-11, 11-9 Big 12) are the last of the teams deemed to have a decent shot of winning the tournament. Bill Self's squad ranked 149th in offensive rating and 31st in defensive rating, and 5-6 record since February 1st is not the way the four-time National Champions want to enter the postseason.

The next teams in the odds are the Baylor Bears (+4000) and the West Virginia Mountaineers (+8000). Further back, at 175/1 and longer, are the Cincinnati Bearcats, Kansas State Wildcats, Central Florida Knights, TCU Horned Frogs, Utah Utes, Arizona State Sun Devils, Oklahoma State Cowboys, and Colorado Buffaloes.
