The biggest names in darts, along with eight North American qualifiers, will take the stage at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City this weekend.
Can World No. 1 Luke Humphries triumph at Madison Square Garden after bowing out in the semifinals a year ago? Will reigning champion Michael van Gerwen run the table again? What excitement can 17-year-old sensation Luke Littler bring?
Ahead of the big weekend in the Big Apple, let’s take a look at the outright odds for the tournament.
Luke Littler | +225 |
Luke Humphries | +225 |
Michael van Gerwen | +450 |
Gerwyn Price | +600 |
Michael Smith | +1000 |
Nathan Aspinall | +1400 |
Rob Cross | +1400 |
Peter Wright | +4000 |
Matt Campbell | +10000 |
Jules van Dongen | +12500 |
Danny Lauby | +12500 |
Stowe Buntz | +12500 |
Jeff Smith | +15000 |
Adam Sevada | +15000 |
Alex Spellman | +20000 |
David Cameron | +20000 |
Luke Littler and Luke Humphries enter the tournament as joint-favorites, with both players having exceptional years so far.
Humphries, 29, defeated Littler in the World Championship final in January, but has won just one time since at the German Darts Grand Prix in April.
Meanwhile, the 17-year-old Littler has been on a tear, winning four events already with finishing runner-up in two others.
Saturday night at MSG could very well see ‘Cool Hand Luke’ and ‘Luke The Nuke’ meet each other in the final.
Defending US Darts Masters champion Michael van Gerwen is a +450 shot to win again in NYC. In 2023, he was able to avoid the likes of then-world No. 1 Michael Smith and Humphries in the bracket, ultimately facing Canadian Jeff Smith in the final, where he won 8-0.
Gerwyn Price, Smith, Nathan Aspinall, Rob Cross, and Peter Wright round out the list of PDC representatives set to play at The Theater this weekend.
Smith won the title in 2022 and was the favorite entering 2023, but lost in the first round to Canadian Jim Long. This time around, ‘Bully Boy’ is +1000 to win outright and reclaim his status as one of the top players in the world.
Cross (+1400) reached the semifinals in 2023, but fell to eventual champion van Gerwen, while ‘Snakebite’ Wright was the only PDC player other than Smith to bow out in the opening round.
Smith and Cross are both recent winners on the PDC Tour, each having won tournaments in the month of May.
As for the North American competitors, none are shorter than a +10000 shot to win at MSG, although if 2023 was any indication, this crop of players can surprise their top-ranked counterparts.
Jeff Smith (+15000) got all the way to the final last year, defeating Wright, Aspinall and Humphries along the way. He and Long, who defeated Michael Smith in the opening round, were the only North American competitors to advance past the first round.
