Melbourne Storm have been handed a huge boost with the news that Craig Bellamy will coach the club in the 2023 NRL campaign.
The Storm are priced at 13/5 to win the 2022 NRL grand final and can now take plenty of comfort from the fact their star coach is going nowhere for the next 18 months at least.
Bellamy to go again
Bellamy has been coaching the Storm for the last 20 years and now gets the chance to decide each year whether he wants to carry on or not. The club just set a deadline for him to make that decision.
And thankfully for them Bellamy has decided to go around again in 2023. Whether that will be his last year remains to be seen.

“The group we have here at the moment are a pretty exciting group and they’re an enjoyable group to work with and hang around with,” Bellamy said after the deal was announced.
“Our staff off the field are really good people and I know how hard they work. It’s a pleasure working with them. I think I’ve got another 12 months to give so I’m looking forward to that next year.”
Storm delight
Meanwhile Storm CEO Justin Rodski saluted the news and is delighted to have Bellamy on board for at least another 12 months.
“There’s no doubt that Craig is still at the top of the tree when it comes to rugby league coaching,” he said. “He is continuing to produce outstanding results week after week, season after season with the support of a very dedicated coaching and high performance team.
