Atlético Mineiro will host Uruguayan outfit Montevideo City Torque at the Arena MRV for the first leg of their Copa Sudamericana semi-final clash, with both sides battling for a coveted spot in the continental showpiece.
After finishing as runners-up in the 2025 campaign, O Galo are determined to take the final step this year. Eduardo Domínguez's side enter the tie in formidable form, boasting a five-match unbeaten run alongside the tournament's stingiest defense among the remaining contenders. Playing in front of their home crowd in Belo Horizonte, the Brazilian heavyweights will be keen to secure a commanding first-leg lead.
Montevideo City Torque, meanwhile, head into the fixture looking to defy the odds. Although the Uruguayan side are winless in their previous four outings, they showed remarkable resilience in the quarter-finals by overturning a deficit against Peruvian side Cienciano. Marcelo Méndez's squad will aim to contain the hosts and keep the tie alive ahead of the return fixture on home soil.
