Ashton Jeanty: 2025 NFL Draft Odds

Running back Ashton Jeanty put up huge numbers in the 2024 College Football season en route to a second-place finish in Heisman Trophy voting, and he's one of the most compelling players heading into the 2025 NFL Draft.

Despite running backs' value dropping in recent years, Jeanty's numbers in college were good enough to buck that trend. In 2024, he rushed 374 times for 2,601 yards and 30 total touchdowns in 14 games, leading the nation in rushing attempts and yards.

The 21-year-old All-American will be the first RB on the board of teams that need to build a run game around a plug-and-play, every-down back. Not only did he carry the ball more than anyone else in the nation last season, but his 7.0 yards per carry shows his consistency and explosiveness.

Ahead of the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 24th, let's take a look at the top-ranked RB's draft position odds.

Ashton Jeanty — Draft Position O/U

Less than a month out from the NFL Draft, Jeanty's Draft Position Over/Under line is 6.5. That's a big change from his old line of 9.5 at the beginning of April.

The Las Vegas Raiders, owners of the sixth-overall pick, have been linked with Jeanty in recent days. Raiders general manager John Spytek said, "the idea is to add elite players at any position" in a recent press conference, and Jeanty certainly fits that bill.

In the same answer, Spytek also pointed to how the Philadelphia Eagles' addition of Saquon Barkley helped lead the team to the championship.

Other RB-needy teams picking near the top of the draft include the New England Patriots (fourth), Jacksonville Jaguars (fifth), Chicago Bears (10th) and Dallas Cowboys (12th).

That said, if teams toward the top of the first round decide it's not worth spending a premium pick on a RB, franchises selecting further back in the draft — such as the Cincinnati Bengals (17th) or Denver Broncos (20th) — could be in play for Jeanty.

Jeanty is the favorite in the markets to be selected fifth overall, sixth overall, and 10th overall.

As things stand, the Jaguars have the fifth pick, the Raiders have the sixth pick, and the Bears have the 10th pick. The Jags finished 26th with 1,729 rushing yards in 2024, the Raiders were last with 1,357 rushing yards, and the Bears were 25th with 1,734 rushing yards.

Four teams picking in the top 10 have odds shorter than 10/1 to select Jeanty.

The Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders are joint-favorites at +175, followed by the Chicago Bears (+450) and New England Patriots (+600). The Jags pick fifth, the Raiders pick sixth, the Bears pick 10th, and the Pats pick fourth.

Jacksonville finished the season ranked 26th in both rushing attempts and yards, and 20th in rushing TDs. QB Trevor Lawrence hasn't returned to his 2022 peak, which was the last time the Jags' rushing offense was ranked in the top half of the league.

Vegas had one of the NFL's worst rushing offenses in 2024. They also struggled at the quarterback position, but after acquiring Geno Smith in the offseason, the front office will want to improve his supporting cast and put the new signal caller in a position to succeed.

The Bears will be looking to improve the skill positions surrounding franchise QB and 2024 NFL Draft No. 1 pick Caleb Williams. Getting him a reliable, every-down back to hand the ball to would make his job much easier, and the mere presence of Jeanty could open things up downfield.

Similarly to the Bears, the Patriots have a young QB in Drake Maye who they will want to maximize. A top-level running back would help draw attention away from the passing game.
