Thailand will face Vietnam in the Finals of the ASEAN Championship on Saturday in Bangkok.
Thailand scraped into the ASEAN Championship finals with a 4-3 aggregate win over Singapore. The Thai team started with a 3-1 advantage in the first leg, before losing 2-1 in the second the leg. Kakana Khamyok's crucial penalty in the second leg sealed the win for Thailand.
Vietnam had a much easier route to the finals. Vietnam defeated Malaysia 2-0 in both legs (4-0 on aggregate) of the semifinals. 29-year-old Nguyen Xuân Son was the most impactful player for Vietnam, scoring three of the teams' four goals against Malaysia.
The match kicks off at 9:00 AM EST / 6:00 AM PST on Saturday, August 22 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The second leg will be played in Vietnam on Wednesday, August 26 in Ha Noi.
