Few people know what Natalia Silva brings to the cage better than Alexa Grasso. The former women's flyweight champion shared the Octagon with Silva at UFC 315 last year and opened up about that fight and her own run at 125 pounds.
With Silva set to face Wang Cong for the vacant title at UFC 332 on Saturday, Grasso's perspective is worth a closer look.
Silva won their meeting in May 2025 by unanimous decision, and Grasso had a front-row seat to the movement and timing that have made the Brazilian so hard to solve.
Grasso has seen the top of this division from every angle. She won the title, held it, and lost it to Valentina Shevchenko at UFC 306. Her read on Silva carries real weight.
Silva comes into her first UFC main event at 20-5-1, unbeaten in eight UFC fights and riding a 14-fight win streak. Her last three wins came against Jéssica Andrade, Grasso, and Rose Namajunas, all former UFC champions.
That résumé is why she sits at No. 1 in the rankings. The open question is how her pace holds up over five rounds, since all eight of her UFC fights have been scheduled for three.
Wang is no ordinary No. 8 contender. She's 10-1, and her only UFC loss came by submission to Gabriella Fernandes in 2024. She also holds a 2015 kickboxing win over Shevchenko, a result she has pointed to for years.
The numbers back up her striking pedigree. Wang lands 6.82 significant strikes per minute at 58 percent accuracy, among the best output rates in the division. If she can force a high-volume fight and keep Silva from finding her rhythm at range, she has a real path to the belt.
Shevchenko is expected to be out for up to a year, so Saturday's winner will hold the undisputed title and likely face her when she returns. For Grasso, a new champion could also reshape her own path back to a title shot.
