New York Yankees superstar centerfielder Aaron Judge is the presumptive AL MVP winner, but as the World Series heads to Yankee Stadium for Game 3 with New York trailing 0-2, he has not yet brought his regular season play into the postseason.
In the regular season, Judge hit 58 home runs with 144 RBI while batting .322/.458/.701 over 158 games.
Through 11 games in the 2024 postseason, he has two home runs, one double, six total hits, six RBI and a 7-19 walk-to-strikeout ratio. Plus, his slash line is just .150/.280/.325 for a .605 OPS, which is just over half his regular season OPS of 1.159.
Judge has just one hit and six strikeouts in nine plate appearances in World Series Game 1 and Game 2 combined. With his team two losses from elimination, Judge's Yankees teammates will be looking for the team captain to step up sooner than later.
This season, the 6-foot-7 centerfielder did most of his damage at Yankee Stadium, posting a slash line of .328/.478/.740 in 78 home games. Plus, 31 of his 58 homers came at Yankee Stadium.
Tonight, Judge faces off against Dodgers starting pitcher Walker Buehler. Buehler, a right-hander, has never pitched against Judge in MLB.
As he looks for a career-defining playoff moment similar to Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman's walk-off Grand Slam in Game 1, let's take a look at Judge's odds for Game 3 of the 2024 World Series.
