4 Nations Face-Off Tournament MVP Odds: Hellebuyck, McDavid are favored

The 4 Nations Face-Off Championship matchup is set with the USA facing Canada, but who will stand out as the tournament's MVP?

Of the players set to appear in the title decider, Jake Guentzel of the United States and Nathan MacKinnon of Canada are tied for the tournament lead with three goals each. Canada's Connor McDavid and the USA's Brady Tkachuk are just behind with two goals each.

But, USA goaltender Connor Hellebuyck has played at an elite level with two wins in two games with a .957 save percentage and 1.00 goals against average.

Connor Hellebuyck, with his aforementioned 1.00 goals against average and .957 save percentage, is the favorite (+260) to win 4 Nations Face-Off MVP. Hellebuyck backstopped the USA in its two wins, against Finland and Canada.

Second in the odds is Canada center Connor McDavid (+280), who is tied for second in the tournament in both goals and points with two and four, respectively. McDavid won the Conn Smythe Trophy for the best NHL Playoff performer in 2024 despite his team losing in the Stanley Cup Final, proving he can step up when the pressure is on.

Veteran Canada center Sidney Crosby (+550) is next in the odds, and he is the tournament co-leader in points with five.

Nathan MacKinnon (+700) has the fourth-shortest odds, and the Canada center is tied for the tournament lead with three goals including a game-winner against Finland. He has the joint-highest plus/minus (+4) among all players, and he is also the tournament's joint-second-most prolific shooter with 10 shots on goal.

Fifth in the betting is USA forward Jake Guentzel (+750), who is tied with MacKinnon for the tournament lead in goals with three. He scored the first and final goals in the hot-tempered clash against Canada, which the Stars and Stripes won 3-1 after three fights in the first nine seconds of the game.

The next tier of 4 Nations Face-Off MVP candidates are Brady Tkachuk (+1400), Matthew Tkachuk (+1400), and Zach Werenski (+1600).

The Tkachuk brothers, both of the USA, each have two goals. Matthew also has an assist, while Brady has the better plus/minus at +2 as opposed to Matthew's even 0 rating. They were two of the USA's three fighters in that Canada game.

USA defenseman Werenski is the joint leader in tournament points with five, all from assists. He has played the third-most minutes of any American defenseman through three games, and his +2 plus/minus is tied for second-best on the team.

The last two players with odds shorter than 100/1 are both USA forwards: Jack Eichel (+3300) and Dylan Larkin (+7500).
