The Toronto Maple Leafs were up 3-0 after three games in their NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs first-round series against the Ottawa Senators, but the Sens have won two straight to put the series at 3-2.
Now, the Leafs are 1-14 in series-clinching games since 2018, which was the second year that Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner, and William Nylander played together.
Toronto won Game 1 by a 6-2 score. Game 2 was closer as a game-tying goal from the Sens' Adam Gaudette sent the game into overtime, but the Leafs' Max Domi scored the OT winner.
The Leafs also won Game 3 in OT thanks to Simon Benoit's winner, assisted by Matthews. But things took a turn in Game 4 of the Battle of Ontario, as the Sens won in overtime on Jake Sanderson's game-winner.
Game 5 was all Sens as they shut out the Leafs with a 4-0 win, although two of those goals were on an empty net.
