The League Phase draw for the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League is complete, and now it's time to look at which teams will come out on top of the new format.
This new format, also called the "Swiss Model," replaces the group stage. It functions as a 36-team league table with three points for a win and one for a draw, each team plays eight games against eight different opponents, and the team with the most points finishes first.
The top eight teams are seeded for the round of 16, teams who finish between ninth and 24th play an extra knockout round to qualify for the round of 16, and teams that finish 25th and below are eliminated after the League Phase.
We now know each team's opponents after the League Phase draw, so let's take a look at who is favored to finish in first place.
Man City | +300 |
Real Madrid | +500 |
Arsenal | +650 |
Bayern Munich | +800 |
Barcelona | +1000 |
Liverpool | +1000 |
Atletico Madrid | +1600 |
Borussia Dortmund | +1600 |
PSG | +1600 |
Bayer Leverkusen | +2000 |
Inter Milan | +2000 |
Just like in the outright odds, Manchester City are the favorites to finish first in the inaugural League Phase of the UEFA Champions League. City face Inter Milan, Club Brugge, Feyenoord and Sparta Prague at home, and they'll visit PSG, Juventus, Sporting CP and Slovan Bratislava.
Reigning Champions League winners Real Madrid are second in the market. Their home slate consists of Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan, Salzburg and VfB Stuttgart; they face Liverpool, reigning Europa League winners Atalanta, Lille and Brest on the road.
Third in the odds is Arsenal, with the shortest odds of any team not drawn from Pot 1, where biggest the clubs who won their leagues last year were drawn from. The Gunners play Inter, Atalanta, Sporting and Girona away and they'll host PSG, Shakhtar Donetsk, Dinamo Zagreb and Monaco at home.
Bayern Munich are fourth in the odds. They have PSG, Benfica, Dinamo Zagreb and Slovan Bratislava at home, and they have trips to Barcelona, Shakhtar, Feyenoord and Aston Villa on the schedule.
Barcelona and Liverpool are next in the odds, each priced at +1000 after the draw.
Barca have Bayern, Atalanta, BSC Young Boys and Brest at home. They'll travel to face Dortmund, Benfica, Crvena Zvezda and Monaco.
Liverpool will host Real Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Lille and Bologna, and they will visit Leipzig, AC Milan, PSV Eindhoven and Girona. PSV is the only team they'll face that does not play in the top five leagues of Europe (England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain).
After Liverpool and Barca, the trio of Atletico Madrid, Dortmund and PSG are level at +1600. Behind those three, both at +2000, are Leverkusen and Inter, with Juventus further back at +3300.
