The SEC is mostly known for its football teams that consistently compete for National Championships, but it has plenty of strong title contenders on the men's basketball side of things, too.
Eight Southeastern Conference teams qualified for last season's NCAA Tournament, which was the joint-most along with the Big 12.
A pair of SEC teams also made noise across the College Basketball landscape this offseason, as head coach John Calipari left his post at Kentucky - where he had been head coach since 2009/10 and won one National Championship - to join Arkansas in the same role with the added bonus of a larger NIL budget.

The Alabama Crimson Tide, who play a fast-paced, high-scoring style under head coach Nate Oats, enter the season as +220 favorites to win the SEC in the 2024/25 regular season. They ranked first in points per game, second in threes made per game and fourth in threes attempted per game last year.
Guard Rylan Griffin left 'Bama for Kansas, but Oats brings back star guard and 2023/24 All-American Mark Sears, guard Latrell Wrightsell, and forward Grant Nelson as well as transferring in point guard Aden Holloway from Auburn and center Clifford Omoruyi from Rutgers.
Speaking of the Auburn Tigers, Bruce Pearl's team is the +250 second-favorite to win the SEC. Johni Broome is back and among the favorites to win the Wooden Award, and he's joined by returning players Chad Baker-Mazara and Denver Jones plus transfer shooting guard Miles Kelly from Georgia Tech.
The Tennessee Volunteers are third in the odds at +350 and the final team to enter the season with odds shorter than 10/1 to win the SEC. Star wing Dalton Knecht left for the NBA and center Jonas Aidoo transferred to Arkansas, but coach Rick Barnes brings back Zakai Zeigler and Jordan Gainey to play alongside transfers Chaz Lanier, Felix Okpara and Darlinstone Dubar.
Further back, at +1200, are John Calipari's reloaded Arkansas Razorbacks. Former Kentucky players DJ Wagner, Zvonimir Ivisic, Adou Thiero and Kareem Watkins followed him there, and the aforementioned Aidoo and former FAU guard Johnell Davis joined them. They also got three four-star recruits, Boogie Fland, Karter Knox and Billy Richmond.
The Texas Longhorns, who joined the SEC from the Big 12 before this season, are fifth in the SEC market at +1600. They got five-star recruit Tre Johnson and added former Kansas State forward Arthur Kaluma, former Oregon State point guard Jordan Pope, and former Arkansas guard Tramon Mark in the transfer portal.
The next group of teams, between 18/1 and 33/1, are the Texas A&M Aggies, Kentucky Wildcats, Florida Gators, Mississippi State Bulldogs and Mississippi Rebels.
The teams with the longest odds - 75/1 or longer - are the Georgia Bulldogs, Missouri Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, South Carolina Gamecocks, LSU Tigers and Vanderbilt Commodores.
