Five teams enter the 2024/25 season with odds shorter than 10/1 to win the Big 12 Regular Season Championship, but the Kansas Jayhawks are the favorites at +220.
Kansas, led by head coach Bill Self since the 2003/04 season, kept key players from last season in Hunter Dickinson, KJ Adams, Elmarko Jackson and Dajuan Harris Jr., and they loaded up through the transfer portal by adding Rylan Griffin from Alabama, AJ Storr from Wisconsin and Zeke Mayo from South Dakota State.
The Houston Cougars are second in the market at +250, and head coach Kelvin Sampson brings back a solid core of players led by LJ Cryer, Emanuel Sharp and J'Wan Roberts. They added point guard Milos Uzan from Oklahoma through the portal and brought in a pair of four-star recruits.
Third in the odds are the Iowa State Cyclones at +400, and coach TJ Otzelberger will build on last year's second-place finish in the conference by bringing back the team's four top scorers: Keshon Gilbert, Tamin Lipsey, Curtis Jones and Milan Momcilovic. Their marquee transfer was forward Joshua Jefferson from St. Mary's.
The Baylor Bears are fourth in the Big 12 odds at +750 and will see the fifth-ranked recruit, shooting guard VJ Edgecombe, carry a heavy load on offense. Coach Scott Drew added former Duke guard Jeremy Roach in the transfer portal, and Jayden Nunn and Langston Love are returning to the team.
Fifth in the odds are the Arizona Wildcats at +800, and head coach Tommy Lloyd will have shooting guard Caleb Love back and playing alongside highly-touted 7-foot-2 center Motiejus Krivas, who will start after Oumar Ballo left for Indiana. Their transfer additions include Trey Townsend from Oakland and Anthony Dell'Orso from Campbell.
Further back in the market, between 20/1 and 40/1, are the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Cincinnati Bearcats, Kansas State Wildcats, BYU Cougars and TCU Horned Frogs.
At the back of the Big 12 pack and entering the season at 55/1 or longer are the Colorado Buffaloes, Central Florida Knights, Arizona State Sun Devils, West Virginia Mountaineers, Utah Utes and Oklahoma State Cowboys.
