2024 WNBA Odds: Caitlin Clark Regular Season Specials

Caitlin Clark is the most hyped player to enter the WNBA in league history, and there is plenty of anticipation surrounding her rookie season with the Indiana Fever.

Clark has gained millions of fans for her long-distance shooting, smart passing and ability to take over games for long stretches. The Fever selected her with the first-overall pick in the 2024 draft after she posted averages of 31.6 points, 8.9 assists, 7.4 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in her senior season at Iowa.

With the Fever, Clark will team with 2023 top pick Aliyah Boston, who won a collegiate national championship at South Carolina and averaged 14.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.3 blocks en route to winning the 2023 WNBA Rookie of the Year Award.

Fans are expecting Clark to light up the WNBA, so let's get into the special markets fans can bet on for her first professional season.

Caitlin Clark attempted more three-point shots per game than two-point shots in both her junior and senior years at Iowa. She shot just 0.2 more threes than twos per game as a junior, but that gap widened to 4.5 more threes than twos per game in her senior year.

The Fever attempted the third-fewest three-pointers per game in the WNBA last season, so Clark will be tasked with increasing both the number of threes attempted and made.

Average 22+ Points Per Game in the 2024 WNBA Regular Season

Yes

No

+130

Caitlin Clark never averaged less than 26 points per game in a season during her college career, but she was not playing against grown women at Iowa.

That's the biggest difference Clark will face in her rookie campaign, according to former and current pros. She'll see taller and stronger players lining up across from her all season, but with that being said, she adjusted quickly as she averaged 26.6 points as a freshman and scored 27 points in her first game at Iowa.

Break WNBA Single-Game Scoring Record (54+ Points) in the 2024 WNBA Regular Season

Clark scored over 40 points in 12 games in her time at Iowa, but she never beat 50 points in a single game. Her career-high was 49 points in 37 minutes in a win over Michigan in February 2024.

WNBA games are the same length as women's college basketball games - 40 minutes broken into 10-minute quarters - so Clark won't have to adjust to any timing differences aside from the 24-second shot clock at the professional level.

Lead Indiana Fever in Scoring in the 2024 WNBA Regular Season

Aliyah Boston, the top pick in the 2023 WNBA Draft, did not lead the Indiana Fever in scoring, but Clark was drafted for her scoring ability whereas Boston is more of a do-it-all forward. Clark led the Fever in field goal attempts and scoring in one of the team's two preseason games.

Kelsey Mitchell, a guard, was the Fever's top scorer last year with 18.2 points per game, followed by then-second-year forward NaLyssa Smith with 15.5 a night. Boston was the team's third-leading scorer with 14.5 points per game.

Record 1+ Made Three in Every 2024 WNBA Regular Season Game

Yes

The last time Caitlin Clark didn't make a single three-point attempt in a game was on January 13, 2022 in a win over Purdue. Clark is almost certain to face tougher defense at the professional level, but three-point shooting is a foundation of her game.

As the top draft pick on the team with the league's third-worst record and third-fewest threes attempted per game last year, she should see plenty of opportunities to shoot in her first season.

Record 10+ Made Threes in Any 2024 WNBA Regular Season Game

Yes

Clark never made 10 threes in a game at Iowa, but she made nine threes in four different games. The first was during her freshman year, where she went 9/16 from beyond the arc in a loss to Maryland.

In her senior year, she made nine threes in three different games. The first was when she went 9/16 from three in a win over Cleveland State in December 2023, then she went 9/18 from three in a win against Michigan in February 2024, and she went 9/20 from three in the national quarterfinal against LSU on April 1, 2024.

Record 130+ Made Threes in the 2024 WNBA Regular Season

The current single-season record for three-pointers made in a single WNBA season belongs to Sabrina Ionescu, who hit 128 in 2023. Clark made 201 threes as a senior at Iowa and 140 threes in her junior season.

Ionescu attempted 286 threes - 7.9 per game - in her record-setting season and made them at a 44.8 percent clip. Clark has never been that accurate a shooter as her career-high three-point percentage was 40.6 percent at Iowa as a freshman, but her coach could give her the green light to shoot from anywhere if she starts her season well.

Record 3+ Triple Doubles in the 2024 WNBA Regular Season

Clark recorded 11 triple doubles in her college career, including six in her senior year. She is second all-time in triple doubles in a college career, only trailing Sabrina Ionescu.

The current record holder for triple doubles in a season is Connecticut Sun do-it-all forward Alyssa Thomas, who had four in 2022. Clark faces Thomas in her first-ever WNBA game as the Fever play the Sun.

There have only been three games in WNBA history where a player has scored at least 50 points. Clark never reached 50 points during her college career.

A'ja Wilson scored 53 points on 16/23 shooting from the floor and 20/21 shooting from the free throw line in 2023 in a 112-100 win over the Atlanta Dream.

Liz Cambage scored 53 in a 104-87 win for the Dallas Wings over the New York Liberty in 2018, shooting 17/22 from the floor, 4/5 from three and 15/16 from the line.
