2024 NBA Draft First Overall Pick Odds: Alex Sarr favored

The Atlanta Hawks won the 2024 NBA Draft Lottery despite having just a three percent chance to win, so attention turns to who they will select with the first-overall pick.

The 2024 draft class is not highly regarded compared to recent years. There is no clear-cut top player despite there being a clear favorite in the top pick odds, and the class has an older average age due to the extra year granted to collegiate athletes due to the pandemic.

Despite those factors, the Hawks will be happy to have won the lottery as they have the entire field of prospects to choose from.

Number 1 Pick in the 2024 NBA Draft odds

Alex Sarr

Zacharie Risacher

Donovan Clingan

Nikola Topic

Reed Sheppard

Matas Buzelis

Rob Dillingham

Alex Sarr, and 18-year-old, 7-foot-1 center from France, is the clear-cut favorite to be selected first overall in the 2024 NBA Draft at -180.

In 17.3 minutes per game over 27 games, Sarr averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 52 percent from the field and 71 percent from the free throw line for the Perth Wildcats in Australia's National Basketball League. He's regarded as an elite athlete with raw talent who, at least, will be a solid rim protector and pick-and-roll big.

At +250, 6-foot-10 wing Zacharie Risacher of the team Bourg in France's top league, is the second-favorite to be picked first overall. He won the Rising Star Award for the EuroCup - the second level of Europe's continental basketball competition - and averaged 10 points on 38.8 percent three-point shooting in 58 games.

Donovan Clingan, the 7-foot-2 center who won back-to-back NCAA Championships with UConn, is third in the odds at +1800. He stepped into a starting role in his sophomore year and averaged 13 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 22.5 minutes per game. He led all men's college basketball players in player efficiency rating this past season.

Nikola Topic, a 6-foot-6 lead guard for Crvena Zvedza in Serbia, is tied at +2000 odds with Kentucky sharpshooter Reed Sheppard. They're followed by G-League Ignite wing Matas Buzelis and Kentucky guard Rob Dillingham, who are each +2200 to hear their name called first.

The four players with the longest odds are UConn's athletic freshman guard Stephon Castle at +3500, G-League Ignite guard Ron Holland at +4000, and Colorado forward Cody Williams and Tennessee wing Dalton Knecht each at +10000.
