UFC 284 will see not one but two title fights as Alexander Volkanovski steps up from featherweight to try and take Islam Makhachev's lightweight crown, while Yair Rodriguez and Josh Emmett face off for the interim featherweight title.
Volkanovski has looked nigh-on invincible in the UFC, beating three-time title challenger Chad Mendes, Hall of Famer Jose Aldo and featherweight great Max Holloway three times.
It's prompted his decision to step up to lightweight to face the unenviable task of sharing the Octagon with Makhachev, who looked like a future lightweight champion for a number of years, before finally getting his shot against Charles Oliveira.
There is no question who is the more accomplished striker between the two, but Volkanovski has a fairly sizeable disadvantage being four inches shorter than his opponent, who will surely look to out-grapple the challenger.
Adam Catterall previews Makhachev v Volkanovski, as well as Rodriguez v Emmett and the rest of the UFC 284 main card.
