Tisu Spirit will get the chance to line up in the Easter Cup heats after taking out the Neil Cameron Devonport Patraons Marathon in Launceston on Sunday night.
The win also means that star trainer Mark Yole will be able to launch a two-pronged attack in the heats which will take place on Sunday. Yole also has Gotta Good Reason racing in the heats.
Tisu Spirit lived up to his name on Sunday when digging deep to take the win. Yole’s charge had to battle hard to take the win and hold off Mister Gently by just 1.2m. Kuyomi finished in third, a further 3.8m behind.
Yole was delighted with the win and believes there is more to come from his charged.
“I’m super happy with him, and it is good to get him somewhere back near his best,” Yole said after the win.
Yole was undecided over where Tisu Spirit would race next but his mind has been made up following the win.
“We will have a throw at the stumps and go to the Easter Cup heats,” he added. “I decided that if he won or ran second tonight that I would go to the Easter Cup, and if he didn’t I would go to the Kevin Gillies. Now with his rating, there isn’t much for him.”
Meanwhile Yole also opted to give Gotta Good Reason a rest following his win in the Tasmanian Cup but is happy with where he is at.
“I was happy with him. He had an easy week after the Tassie Cup win and would have been short of a run tonight,” Yole added.
