The three-day Go North Series stops off at Kelso on Saturday afternoon, the Borders venue sandwiched between cards as Musselburgh and Carlisle as the northern circuits get a positive airing.
In the Schloss Roxburghe Hotel Handicap Hurdle (2.25), last-time-out Wetherby winner Jet Legs (10/3) could have designs on further success with his 5lb ratings-rise negated by the booking of high-flying rider Patrick Wadge in the midst of a breakout spell for him.
They are going up in trip and should be suited, though plenty of eyes will be drawn to 7/1 Pym on his first start for Nigel Twiston-Davies.
He's been off the track for 538 days, but was a smart chaser in his days with Nicky Henderson and could be very well handicapped in a first-time tongue-tie if the Naunton handler has him ready to go.
The Herring Queen Series Final Mares' Novices' Handicap Hurdle (3.00) features capable performers like Bonttay (9/4) for Fergal O'Brien and Paddy Brennan as well as Walk Of No Shame (5/1) for the Jonjo O'Neill Sr/Jr alliance.
Wadge rides 6/1 Autumn Return for Ruth Jefferson in this one, while Dan Skelton will be hoping 12/1 Notnowlinda can make it 3-3 this season over the trip, with both hurdles defeats so far coming at two-and-a-half-miles plus.
At 3.35 it's a handicap chase over three-and-a-quarter-miles as progressive Forward Plan is 3/1 to continue an excellent sequence for trainer Anthony Honeyball, with the likes of course specialist Big River (12/1) and Sandy Thomson's well-handicapped Doyen Breed (6/1) amongst the rivals hoping to thwart him.
Snowden upbeat on Newbury hope
The big race of the day in the UK comes at Newbury where the Grade 2 Mares' Novices' Hurdle (2.40) has attracted a field of 18 contenders for the 2m4½f test.
With the numbers involved, this is very much a wide open event and plenty of unexposed potential improvers will be eager to shine.
Ruby Island (7/1) was just touched off at Ayr last time over this trip, but had won both hurdles starts previously and goes handicapping with a bright future for trainer Mark Walford.
Nicky Richards accounts for another interesting handicap debutante in Aubis Walk (8/1), while Joe Tizzard's Ilovethenightlife is 14/1 to defy top-weight on the back of a Listed win at Doncaster three weeks ago where Moviddy (10/1) was right behind in second spot trainer Noel Williams.
Dan and Harry Skelton go with 8/1 Royale Dance, while Cheltenham Festival-winning trainer Jamie Snowden told this week's edition of What A Shout he's had this race in mind for a while with 20/1 Ebonello.
UK eyes fixed on Irish Lincoln raid
There's another week to wait for the start of the Flat season in the UK at Doncaster, but Ireland cracks on ahead with the Curragh back in the fold on Saturday - featuring the Irish Lincolnshire (3.25) as the headline act.
A full field of 27 runners are expected to line out for the one-mile test with €60,000 to the winner and they are headed by I Am Superman for trainer Michael O'Callaghan.

Group 3 fare follows via the Park Express Stakes (3.57) where Willie McCreery's Insinuendo bids to go one better than last year's second to Mother Earth.
Joseph O'Brien's Agartha has to concede weight all round in a field containing the likes of Kerkiyra for Johnny Murtagh, Redressed for Ger Lyons and three-year-olds Comhra (Jim Bolger) and Delightful (Aidan O'Brien) getting lots of weight from their elders.

Frankie looks for dream World Cup farewell
Lots will be written on Frankie Dettori in the coming months as his farewell tour takes place and the Italian icon will bid for a record-breaking fifth win in the Dubai World Cup (4.35) on board Country Grammer for US trainer Bob Baffert at odds of 3/1.
It will need all of Dettori's magic however after they were drawn in stall 14 of 15.
Leading UK hope Algiers (3/1) in stall 15 for Simon & Ed Crisford with James Doyle on board, while Oisin Murphy is hoping for a big effort from Japanese hopeful T O Keynes (12/1).
As always on World Cup Night, the card is brimming with quality racing including the Al Quoz Sprint (1.15), the Dubai Golden Shaheen (2.25), the Dubai Turf (3.10) and the Dubai Sheema Classic (4.00).
In the latter British hopes include Mostahdaf (11/2) for John & Thady Gosden, Rebel's Romance (5/1) for Charlie Appleby and Ralph Beckett's Irish Derby winner Westover (6/1).
Go North finale headlines Sunday action
Carlisle will take centre stage on Sunday as the Go North Series concludes with their seven-race offering.
Rose Dobbin will be hoping Captain Quint has a favourites' chance in the Go North Monet's Garden Series Final Handicap Chase (3.35) after his win at Ayr recently.
Meanwhile, the Go North Red Rum Series Final Handicap Chase (4.45) is set to feature in-form contenders Creative Control for Donald McCain and Brian Hughes as well as February's North Wales National winner Bretney for Henry Daly and Gavin Sheehan.
