Brisbane Broncos have confirmed Jake Turpin is free to find himself another club after slipping down the pecking order under Kevin Walters.
The Broncos are priced at 17/10 to finish in the top four of the NRL this season after making an electric start to the campaign, but Turpin has struggled to play a part.
Transfer request
Turpin has failed to force his way into the side as Cory Paix and Billy Walters are blocking his path. The player has therefore asked to be released and the Broncos have granted him permission to talk to other clubs.
The player is under contract until the end of 2022 but now looks set to see the season out elsewhere. The Newcastle Knights have been heavily linked and could now offer him a fresh start.

“The Broncos can confirm that Jake Turpin has been granted permission to negotiate with other clubs,” the Broncos released in a statement. “Jake approached the club wishing to explore his options elsewhere and the Broncos have granted that request.
He is currently contracted to the Broncos until the end of the 2022 season.”
Haas talks on hold
The news comes the day after the Broncos said all contract talks with Payne Haas are on hold until the end of the season.
Haas had also requested to leave the club after the Broncos said no to an upgrade on his current contract. They also said no to the transfer request and the matter is closed until the end of 2022.
