Tottenham v Arsenal Bet Boosts: Arsenal title hopes dented in 8/1 shot

Tottenham play host to Arsenal in the second Premier League derby of the weekend and we’ve BOOSTED the odds on a number of selections, including an 8/1 chance.

The Gunners make the short trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as the 6/5 favourites, and perched at the summit of the league table, but they will have to address a poor run of form against their North London opponents if they are to further cement their cushion.

There is no doubt that current form points to an away win, but Spurs (21/10 to prevail on Sunday) boast an exceptional recent record in home fixtures against the Gunners having won five and drawn two of the last seven meetings between the two sides.

It’s a run of results that Antonio Conte’s men will be desperate to maintain as they look to dent Arsenal’s 7/4 title ambitions, and more importantly keep their own Champions League ambitions alive as they edge ever-nearer to a crucial top-flight double-header with Manchester City.

As with every other top-flight fixture in the Premier League across the weekend, we’ve BOOSTED the prices on a number of selections, including this 8/1 Bet Builder…

Backing up the Boost

Few matches whet the appetite of us football-loving folk as much as a big Premier League derby, and we are being treated to two of them across this weekend’s top-flight action.

With Manchester taking centre stage on Saturday as fierce rivals United and City do battle at Old Trafford, the spotlight falls upon North London on Sunday with league-leaders Arsenal making the short four-mile trip north to tackle their old foes Tottenham.

The Gunners have enjoyed a remarkable opening half of the campaign – losing just once in the league – but with City continuing to breathe right down their neck, they know there is little room for error if they are to reign supreme on the domestic front come May.

A stalemate at home to Newcastle United last time out in the league suggested Mikel Arteta’s men are starting to feel the heat just a tad as the 2022/23 title edges towards what could be a fascinating finale.

And whilst there is no doubt that victory over Tottenham on Sunday would re-assert their position at the top of the table, they know that, despite winning 15 of their last 18 games, doing so is going to be far easier said than done.

Spurs would love nothing more than to claim the bragging rights on their own patch for a sixth time in eight years, and fourth in succession, and in Harry Kane they certainly possess the talents of a frontman who relishes this occasion more so than anybody else.

The England skipper, who has netted 15 Premier League goals this season, has been equally as prolific against the club he supported as a boy, notching 14 times in just 16 top-flight fixtures between the two sides; more than any other player in history.

He is a man bang in form, and with the added motivation of standing just a solitary effort shy of equalling Jimmy Greaves’ club record of 266, and two adrift of the landmark 200 in the Premier League, the 29-year-old, you’d expect, will be champing at the bit to lead his side to derby day glory.

Goals have come at a plenty in this meeting over the years too with the back of the net being rippled on 33 occasions in the last 10 meetings, with both sides managing to get on the scoresheet in seven of those.
