Championship: Steve Freeth's Luton Town v Nottingham Forest Bet Builder

There’s a Good Friday football-fest in the Championship and I’m looking at a bet365 boosted Bet Builder as 5th placed Luton host 4th placed Nottingham Forest.

There’s no question who the form side in the Championship are right now. After taking one point from their opening seven games, relegation looked a far more realistic prospect for Nottingham Forest than promotion.

At the time of Chris Hughton’s departure, Forest were 12/1 for a top-six finish; that’s as short as 1/25 now following a remarkable turnaround which has seen them pick up the most points per game in the Championship since parting company with Hughton.

And they’re hitting top gear at the perfect time. Strangely, the rest of the top six have won exactly two of their last five games, dropping points in the other three, while Forest have recorded five wins on the bounce.

Incredibly, automatic promotion remains a possibility for Forest - who’d have thought that when Steve Cooper took over - and with just one league defeat this calendar year, the Tricky Trees will head down to Kenilworth Road full of confidence, especially with the over-achieving Hatters winless in their last three. However, it would be wise not to write off Luton under Nathan Jones, so I’m starting with Both Teams To Score.

Here’s a quiz question for all you Championship aficionados – which player has committed the most fouls this season? A mythical Cheese & Beans Oatcake if you named Elijah Adebayo as that player. The former Walsall striker will be frustrated after missing that penalty when 1-0 down to Huddersfield on Monday, but let’s be honest, a 15 goal-return in the second tier is impressive, however I’d rather back him to find his way into James Linnington’s notebook than onto the scoresheet in this one.

You may recall me putting up Huddersfield keeper Lee Nicholls to be booked at 14/1 a couple of weeks ago. Despite the Terriers defending a one-goal lead for the final 11 minutes, Nicholls stayed out of trouble. Naturally, he was booked on Monday night at home to Luton, so let's hope for some better luck this week...

My final selection centres on a player who has also caught the eye this campaign, so much so that Manchester United fans are calling for James Garner to be included in their first team plans next season. The 21-year-old has been consistently racking up both goals and assists since the end of January with nine G/A in his last 14 matches.

And with three shots in each of his last four league games, I’m finishing my boosted Bet Builder with Garner Over 1.5 shots in the match.

To recap, Both Teams To Score, Adebayo to be booked and Garner Over 1.5 shots is currently an 14/1 chance, we’ve boosted it to 20/1.

That’s my Bet Builder – let me know your thoughts.

Both Teams to Score - Yes 4/5
Elijah Adebayo To Be Booked 11/4
James Garner Over 1.5 Shots 5/4

Bet Builder - Boosted from 14/1 to 20/1
