The Washington Nationals outfielder Juan Soto hit his 100th home run in Major League Baseball in their 16-4 loss to the Atlanta Braves on.
Soto is 11/4 to win the National League Most Valuable Player and he hit number 100 off an 89.5 mph cutter from Braves right-handed pitcher Bryce Elder.

The 23-year-old hit the fourth-longest home run of his career and is just the seventh active player to hit 100 homers.
The milestone home run means that Soto has more success against the Braves. He has hit 14 home runs against his National League East Division rival.
Soto is from the Dominican Republic and signed with the Washington Nationals as an international free agent in 2015.
He made his professional debut in 2016 in the Gulf Coast League and just two years later Soto made his Major League debut aged 19 years old against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Nationals Park.

Rapid rise for Soto
Soto won the World Series with the Nationals in 2019 and became only the fourth player in MLB history to record 100 extra-base hits before his 21st birthday. He has a .301 batting average with 491 hits in 1633 at-bats.
Speaking to the official Washington Nationals website, Soto said: "It means a lot. It's just a number that not many players get to, and it feels an honour to be there.
"For me, it's just a blessing. It just comes to me. I never tried to hit a home run, or anything like that. I'm one of the guys who just tries to hit singles every day.
"So for me to become consistent hitting homers, it's just impressive and it tells how good I've been working on my body and everything."
