Saturday's Sport: Premier League under the spotlight

There are six Premier League matches planned on New Year's Eve on Saturday, while Barcelona are also in action in one of three La Liga games taking place.

While the World Darts Championship takes a break, there is still some high-quality horse racing to come, with five meetings taking place on Saturday including Newbury's seven-race card, which will host the Challow Novices' Hurdle at 15:00.

Racing fans can look forward to further meetings from Lingfield, Warwick, Uttoxeter and Punchestown, which can be followed on bet365's Sports Live Streaming platform.

La Liga: Barca eye six in a row

What: Barcelona v Espanyol
Where: Camp Nou, Barcelona
When: 13:00, Saturday 31st December
How to watch: LaLiga TV
Odds: Barcelona 1/5, Draw 13/2, Espanyol 11/1

Xavi's Barcelona have set the standard so far in La Liga and they will bid to make it six league wins in a row on Saturday when they play host to Espanyol.

This derby is one of the highlights of the calendar in La Liga, but this weekend's battle could be a one-sided affair given the two very different situations the two teams find themselves in.

While Barcelona are fighting it out with Real Madrid at the top of the table, Espanyol are 16th and looking over their shoulder at those in the relegation zone.

Barca have kept four clean sheets in their last five wins in the Spanish top flight, while Xavi's troops have not conceded in five consecutive matches against Espanyol at Camp Nou and are 1/1 To Win on home soil again.

Premier League: City can add to Lampard's growing list of problems

What: Manchester City v Everton
Where: Etihad Stadium, Manchester
When: 15:00, Saturday 31st December
Odds: Man City 1/8, Draw 15/2, Everton 20/1

Premier League champions Manchester City have been in impressive form since the season resumed after the World Cup break, with Pep Guardiola's side scoring three goals in both victories over Liverpool and Leeds United.

The Citizens' win over the Reds allowed them to reach the quarter-finals of the EFL Cup, while their midweek victory at Elland Road helped them keep league-leaders Arsenal in sight.

While City have won four of their previous five in the Premier League, Everton have lost three on the spin in the top flight and a home win and over 3.5 goals at 20/21 in the Result/Total Goals market appeals.

Horse Racing: Nicholls eyes Challow hat-trick

What: Challow Novices' Hurdle
Where: Newbury Racecourse, Newbury
When: 15:00, Saturday 31st December
How to watch: Racing TV, Bet365's Sports Live Streaming
Odds: Hermes Allen 5/6, Joyeux Machin 6/1, Vicki Vale 8/1, Crambo 12/1

The highlight of Saturday's racing comes from Newbury, where Paul Nicholls will look to win his third Challow Novices' Hurdle in a row.

Nicholls, the reigning champion trainer, will send Hermes Allen to Newbury as he hopes to win the race for the fifth time.

He has previously won the contest with the likes of Denman, Bravemansgame and Stage Star, and Hermes Allen has shown he may have the potential to add to that list.

The five-year-old won by 27 lengths at Stratford on debut in October before winning at Cheltenham in November.

Joyeux Machin remains his closest rival in the market, while Harry Skelton saddles Vicki Vale. In total, a field of 13 will contest Saturday's race, but Hermes Allen sets the standard at odds of 5/6.
