John Sargent is hopeful that Gin Martini can provide him with a second win in the Group 1 Queensland Oaks on Saturday, ten years on from sending out Quintessential to land the Eagle Farm feature.
Third in the Group 1 Australian Oaks at Randwick in April, Gin Martini - who can be backed at 33/1 - heads into Saturday's race off the back of a fourth place behind Barb Raider in last Saturday’s Group 2 ANZ Bloodstock News Roses at Eagle Farm.
And the quick turnaround holds no major concerns for trainer Sargent.

"I'm not worried about the back-up, as they do it in Victoria when they back-up four days after The Wakeful into the Victoria Oaks," the trainer told RacingQueensland.
Gin Martini is usually ridden up with the pace, however Sargent said he is considering a change in tactics after the filly drew barrier ten for the 2200-metre contest.
"I want to try and ride her a bit colder if possible and hope to have her hidden away," Sargent added. "This filly is more a staying type than Quintessential, who had a bit more sprint in her."

Robbie Dolan, who has been on board the two-time winner in each of her last five starts, has once again been booked for the ride.
Meanwhile, Sargent could be doubly represented in the race with the trainer keeping his fingers crossed Nyota can sneak into the final field of 16 after being named second emergency.
